The Crystaria Order operates as both a private militaristic brotherhood and an academy of training, forging warriors, scholars, and spellcasters into paragons of virtue and defenders of peace. While unaffiliated with any single realm or crown, the Order is bound by sacred oaths to serve the greater good and stand vigilant against the forces that would plunge the world into chaos.The Order exists to train people into becoming elite knights, equip them with purpose, and deploy them to areas where law, balance, and hope are under siege. Q: What is The Crystaria Order?

A: The Crystaria Order is a lore-respecting, RP-focused Free Company on the Mateus server in FFXIV. We portray a private, independent knightly order dedicated to the protection of the Thirteen Realms. We blend knightley traditions, mystery, and character-driven storytelling into a structured but inclusive community.

Q: What kind of RP do you offer?

A: Our roleplay spans:

Q: Are you lore-compliant?

A: Yes—lore-respecting is our philosophy. While we don’t rigidly enforce canon, we work within the spirit and setting of FFXIV's world. Our original lore (like the Crystal Core and how we travel to the Thirteen Realms) is designed to feel organic and believable in-universe.

Q: What is a Crystarian Knight?

A: Crystarian Knight is someone who upholds the virtues of the order. They can be anyone that ranges from:
⟡ Recruits seeking purpose⟡ Mages, scholars, and spellcasters⟡ Bodyguards, mercenaries, or wandering souls⟡ Squires, apprentices, or those seeking redemption⟡ Commoners or noblesA Crystarian Knight can be anything, from combat focus skills to support skills. We have IC training programs that teach you to become the type of knight you wish to be.

Q: Is there a place for my new or inexperienced RP character?

A: Yes! The Crystaria Academy exists specifically to nurture new characters and players. Whether you're ICly just starting your journey or OOCly new to RP, we provide guidance, mentorship, and a welcoming space to grow.

Q: What’s your activity level and event schedule like?

A: We host 2–4 scheduled events per week, ranging from academy classes and sparring to full-scale missions or courtly scenes. We’re flexible and understand real life comes first—many members participate at their own pace, all we ask is for our members to communicate with us when they cannot be around.

Q: How do I join?

A: Well if you are reading this then you are halfway there! By going over to our Application page you will find a link to the application form. A member of leadership will review your application and message you as soon as possible.After the application form has been reviewed and a member of leadership has reached out, we'll set up a short OOC chat to learn about you and your interests and allow you the chance to ask us any further questions before finalizing the membership. Afterwards we will organize an In-character introduction meeting where your character will be interviewed. From there, you’re free to engage with the free company whenever it suits your comfort and availability.If you have further questions to ask before joining or signing the form, feel free to reach out to us in-game or DM us on Discord (hunnybunny. Q: What kind of community standards do you have?

A: We’re a respectful, inclusive guild that welcomes people of all backgrounds. Bigotry, harassment, or toxicity of any kind have no place here. We believe in treating others the way we’d want to be treated—fairly, kindly, and as equals.

Q: Do you allow villainous or morally gray characters?

A: We allow morally complex characters so long as they’re respectful to others' RP boundaries and the laws of the world and can function within a cooperative group. Secret agendas, inner turmoil, and redemption arcs are welcome—but overtly toxic or disruptive characters may not be a good fit IC or OOC.

A: We’re medium to heavy RP. That means we care about story and character immersion, but we also:

Q: What’s your stance on work-life balance and activity expectations?

A: Real life always comes first. Whether you’re working, studying, parenting, or just need some time off—The Crystaria Order is designed to support your schedule, not compete with it.We encourage regular participation in events and storylines, but nothing is mandatory. You won’t be removed or punished for needing time away, and we’ll always support healthy boundaries and pacing.That said, your character’s growth and progression are entirely in your hands. Promotions, story advancement, and IC opportunities are tied to engagement. The more you participate—in RP, trials, missions, or community events—the more your character can evolve within the world and the Order.

At the heart of the Order stand its founders—Grandmaster Yuna Rosefield-Mason and Ser Venn Mason, her steadfast First-Knight Commander. Together, they guide Crystaria’s mission, lead its council, and ensure the Academy and its knights uphold their sacred duties to the Realms.

Grandmaster Yuna Rosefield-MasonOnce a heroic knight of the Crystal Order, she stands as one of the last surviving Crystal Knights of that era, embodying their ideals of courage strength, honor and wisdom. Yuna's deep connection to the Lifestream fuels her magical talents, making her a beacon of hope and a stalwart protector in the face of darkness. Pushing her forward onto her journey to bring back the Order under its new name and face whatever the world brings.

First-Knight Commander Venn MasonA man with the experience of many lives under his belt. The Crystaria Order's First-Knight and Weapons master. He seeks to fight for the future, and is driven to bring hope and inspiration to those around him.If he can't do any of that, at least he has Blitzball.

High Council

The Order’s operations are overseen by a High Council, made up of first class knights who manage deployments, education, and diplomacy. Calder TherouA kind-hearted and seasoned Viera, Calder seeks continual growth through knowledge and experience. Rooted in tradition but drawn to the future, he joined the academy to refine his skills and better prepare himself to serve and protect what he values most. Calm and introspective, he believes true strength lies in understanding—both of the self and the world. Though he often walks a quiet path, his presence offers steady support to those around him.
